For over 25 years, Youth Arts has offered free after-school classes in the visual and performing arts to youth of all ages in a safe and nurturing environment. Over 700 students benefit annually from the center’s fifty weekly classes.

Boys & Girls Clubs at Creston Elementary School helping underserved kids thrive

It’s back to school time in the rural community of Creston in North San Luis Obispo County, and for the second year, children at Creston Elementary School will benefit from an after-school program right on their campus, provided by Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast. Since early 2022, the organization established a school-based site to help with the urgent need for childcare in that community. Through a financial partnership with Must! Charities — a local convener of financial resources that helps focus philanthropy on meeting urgent needs in the San Luis Obispo region — the clubs and all operating costs are covered by Must!

Due to high interest, additional classes in Guitar and Culinary Arts have been scheduled. Notably, the talented student filmmakers enrolled in the Video Production class will once again showcase their work at the Estreno Youth Film Festival, thanks to the support of Must! Charities.
$58,000 Awarded to Children of Vineyard Farmworkers

Higher education is important to many students but paying for college can be challenging. This year, the Vineyard Team’s Juan Nevarez Memorial Scholarship awarded $58,000 in higher education scholarships to 18 students whose parents work in California vineyards.

Plus, scholarships were awarded to six recent high school graduates from Healdsburg High School (1), Paso Robles High School (2), Pioneer Valley High School (1), Soledad High School (2).
